Responding to Copycats in the Creative Industry with Angela Mondloch of Saffron Avenue

Angela Mondloch is the owner, designer and editor behind Saffron Avenue which is a creative design studio dedicated to heartfelt brands, custom websites, modern calligraphy, and creative resources that are inspiring and intentional. Angela and I had a great conversation about some of the not so pretty things that happen in business. We’re talking specifically about when people steal or copy your creative work and the best ways to handle it. We discuss her personal experiences and how the way we respond in these circumstances has an effect on our business and on the creative industry as a whole.

In this episode you’ll hear:

  • Angela’s background and desire to pursue a creative career since childhood.

  • How she built her creative design skills while working for another company

  • When she knew it was the right time to make a big career move

  • Her experience with having her creative design work copied

  • Her advice for how to respond to copycats in order to build community, and avoid hurting your own business and reputation

  • Her long-term goals and vision for Saffron Avenue
